Major Knee Problems. whats wrong?i went to the doc 5 mo. ago and they said my right knee has a bad sprain. so i stayed off my knee for 5 months. then i went again after 5 mo., and my knee was still swollen and puffy. i went to one of those knee specializer people and they said it was just a bruise. so i took an MRI and the results showed nothings wrong with it.
SYMPTOMS:
-knee pop sometimes
-swollen and puffy
-gets worse (more swollen and hurts bad) after doing an activity like soccer or skateboarding
-kinda bruised
so do you know whts wrong with it?
btw. its more on the inside of my right knee. like the acl.

sounds like when i tore my acl but the mri would have found that

Sounds like it a very bad bruise. Knees are very vulnerable joints because the are so flexible(unlike your hip joint which is tremendously stable). Did the docs recommend PT? It sounds like you could use some before you start getting really active again and re-injure yourself. Give the docs a call, tell them what's happening and ask for a PT consult with a sports medicine specialist.

thats sounds eirily like what i went through last year with my knee...i was origanilly told that it was only sprained and after a few weeks of rest followed by some PT that everything would be fine... well everything wasnt fine, so i basically was pushed back and forth from PT to orthos all the thme being told that "nothing was wrong"
so i got clearance to cheer(competitive) just no tumbling and of course my knee continued to give me trouble
from july-march i had 2 mris, 6 cortisone injections, and months of PT
then in march my knee finaly said enough and gave way completely
i finally had surgery in June of 08, and had i not tried to rush back for cheerleading(cant now because of too severe of damage) i would be doing great... but i am currently re-resting a reinjured knee and hoping i dont need a second surgery
if u know that something isnt right then seek the advise of another doctor... and keep seeing different docs until someone finds an answer(thats what i had to do)
