Knee pain in what feels like a muscle behind my knee when its bent against resistance.?

Knee pain in what feels like a muscle behind my knee when its bent against resistance.?There is pain behind my knee behind my knee when I bend it against resistance. It is at its worst when I sprint and am pulling my leg back after each stride. It doesn't bother me when I turn and cut on the field, only when I'm sprinting forward.

Can anyone help with this?

You can get pain from your popliteus muscle behind the knee. With your knee bent at a right angle (ie sitting in a chair), and with your thigh and knee held still, turn your toes inwards and outwards (sliding the sole of your foot in an arc along the floor). If you have pain with this behind your knee, it could be your popliteus. Either way, go to a physical therapist/physiotherapist or doctor and get your knee diagnosed properly - it's hard to do this accurately over the Net, much less teach you what to do about it.
