what is this pain in the back of my knee?About a month ago I started feeling a slight pain in the back of knee sometimes when I went to a spinning class and then yesterday morning I squatted to pick something up and had a huge sharp pain in the same spot...like an intense charlie horse in the back of my knee and my toes almost felt numb. I still can't bend my knee without pain. I guess the pain is located in the lateral collateral ligament AREA.

So, is this nothing or what? and If I had to see a doctor is this something chiropractor could help with because I have a herniated disk on the same side of my back (l4/l5) but I doubt they are related...?
Thank you!
by spinning I mean on an exercise bike ;)

I recall that spinning class is where you sew and do nitting and ur foot pushs dwn on the pedal ?? I think you should go see a doctor my dear as you have injured behind youur knee ..either caused by standing or using your leg for too long ...the doctors should give you medication ... and as you have a disk youu should take it easy :) For now relax on the sofa with some tea with a hit water bottle where the pain is :) x hope i helped...

Knees are complicated and need looking after. I think you should see your doctor. A chiropractor can help too but probably not right away. I think what they will tell you is RICE (rest, ice, compression and exercise) I agree it probably is not related to your disc.
I broke my posterior cruciate ligament when skiing about 6 years ago in a series of falls. The first fall twisted it and on the second fall it snapped. It sounded like a gunshot. The pain was at the back of the knee where the crease is. It was excruciating. Because I could still walk, more or less, the doctors didn't think anything too bad had happened. Usually this injury happens to football players! My knee got swollen and I developed a huge blood blister on the front of the knee. The broken ligament only showed up on an MRI. I had an operation, but not a repair. It is fine now but it took some time.
