Clicking knee joints - can be painful!?I am 14, and for a couple of years now I have had a problem with my joints.
Without fail, my knees always click loudly when I bend them, which doesn't tend to hurt, it just feels very strange, like the joints are clicking into place.
Also, I find that many other joints in my body click in the same way when I bend them, especially at my elbows. This does not happen as frequently, but it is often quite painful, and people near me can hear the joints clicking, as it becomes very loud.
I was advised by someone I know to take Glucosamine, and I take 1, 600mg tablet, once a day, but I was told recently that 1500mg works better.
What do you think is the matter? Is 600mg or 1500mg a day better for a 14 year old (with asthma, but I don't think this makes any difference)? Why does this happen, and should it?
Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

An orthopedic Dr will tell you that clicking or popping in the absence of pain is insignificant. If the same noise happens when pain or swelling is present then you have a problem but otherwise forget about it.
This type noise is usually caused by ligaments rubbing as they slide into place in the joints. I'm guessing this noise will stop as you get older - or maybe not.

This is nothing to worry about, quiet normal. I had this a lot when I was your age and the sound was really loud! Don't get it so much now, hardly at all.
Your are very young to start with Glucosamine, as long as you have a heathy diet, you should not need to take it, check with your Doc.
