I'm supposed to get arthroscopic surgery on my knee (torn cartilage). Should I have this done?I recently tore some cartilage in my left knee. My doctor suggested that I get surgery because he said the tear is small enough and that it is fixable. My only concern are any possible setbacks. I'm supposed to open a martial arts school (possibly) this summer. Will this surgery prevent me from demonstrating martial arts without any physical limitations? Overall, what I am to expect after the surgery? Will my knee never be enough to endure physical exercises, etc.?

This surgery has a very high rate of success and very minimally invasive as well as the healing time significantly reduced. Not to mention much less scare tissue. My advice Is to have the surgery done.

Its a walk in walk out procedure.
You might get some stiffness for a few weeks, but you should be back in no time.
Crutches might be required for a week max.
