I know the exact answer to that. Torn knee cartilage takes so long to heal because it has to grow back after you've started an effective treatment, to help heal it. I've had torn knee cartilage in the past and it has to grow back, and heal itself. That's not an over-night process. It takes some time. It's been two years and the cartilage in my knee is still growing back to when I tore it.
