Knee injury of possible ACL, Meniscus, or LCL??

Knee injury of possible ACL, Meniscus, or LCL??I recently got hurt at work and it was a right knee injury. My knee popped and kind of gave out of me when I was doing some heavy lifting at work. I went to two dr's, one being the company dr. and the other being my personal dr. The company dr. believed I have a minor meniscus tear and told me not to wear my knee imobilizer. My personal dr. did a test and thinks its a lateral cartilage injury or a possible acl injury. My symptoms are constant painful popping/snapping of my knee cap, swelling, something pops out the side of the right outside area of my knee, and occassional pain in the back of my knee and around the knee cap. Anyone know what it may be??

Was your personal doctor an orthopedist? Sure sounds like an ACL to me! A meniscal tear wouldn't cause all those symptoms. Sounds like the company doctor is trying to shave a few workman's comp dollars off the company expense budget for your injury. Not surprising. Go with you own doctor's diagnosis and recommendation.

You have been examined by 2 doctors. I do not think that anyone here can give you more reliable information. Be sure that both doctors have access to your health record pertinent this case, X-ray, MRI, etc. This may become a legal problem if the company doctor and personal doctor do not agree.

Go back the the company doctor. Explain that you believe that the matter requires further investigation, because you obtained a second opinion that suggests a lateral cartilage injury.

Assuming you are in the US, and it is a Worker's Comp claim, I would suggest you take notes, names, and documentation whenever you deal with these people. It is a state operated system, and it is horrendous to deal with. You might wish to contact an attorney at this point: Worker's Comp, in my state, is a bogus, horrible, inefficient and corrupt socialist system. Get an attorney.
