Knee Pain, Stiff then extreme pain...?For the past couple of weeks I've had severe pain in my right knee.
The best way to describe it is, when I sit down on my bed, I usually sit indian style - or if I'm sitting on the couch with my right leg bent close to my body, this position makes my leg (and knee) so absolutely stiff when I get up and extend my leg, that it's excrutiating to extend my leg and then put any weight down on my leg (and knee) all together. I have to gradually extend, then put pressure down on my knee in order to walk until I no longer feel the extreme shooting pains. It eventually subsides; but reoccurs when I sit in certain positions where I bend that leg or sit indian style, etc... I have never experienced this until here lately...
A couple of weeks ago I started going back to the gym and only way day did I "use" one of the leg machines in which you do leg extensions laying on your back with weights stacked on the machine- I just wonder if putting too much weight on, just doing it that one day exaberated this "leg/knee" thing..
What advice do you have?

If you sit in any position too long you are going to have pain when you try to extend you leg. I have that problem so I have to stop myself from sitting that way.
When you go to the gym be gentle on your knees and dont put too much weight on them.
