Sharp pain in left knee when fully extended caused by running?I went jogging today for exercise verses my usual routine. I did 4 miles. Showered, sat down, but later when i stood up i got a sharp shooting pain in my left knee, towards the left side of the ball. Now if i try extending my knee fully, it hurts very bad. What happened? Is it okay to try running on it tomorrow morning?
Thing is i've done tae-bo for 5 months n lost 50 pounds but its not working as great anymore, i thought running would be a good alternative.

dont run on it again or youll make it worse
any injuries like that (and you will get them if you keep jogging, it just happens) youre supposed to 'ice and elevate' straight away
keep it rested, maybe strap it with a bandage to compress it, dont put too much weight on it

i had the same pain last week...
just put ice on it..and sit down and extend your knee little by little

If it hurts, don't run. You might have put pressure on your tendons. If you are trying to burn calories, if you have more than average upper body weight, it is not advised to run since running puts more pressure on your joints. If you want something just as effective, go on the elliptical with high resistance, or any other cardio for that matter.
