What to do about an inflamed knee?I've been running a lot latley, maybe to much i dont know.
For the past month ive been having pain in my knee when i run.
But now it just hurts all the time when i put pressure on it.
My dad, being a major athlete, says its probly inflamed.
Is he right?
Also, i have gym for school on friday and i wanted to know what i should do during it.
I have been icing it too.

ChiropracticofBellevue.com - Dr. Edward Owens. Dad is probably correct. I would recommend icing it up and seeing your local chiropractor to (1) ensure the leg/knee is in alignment and (2) getting some shoe inserts made so you're running with correct form. Most insurances cover the shoe insert and leg/knee adjustments.
This link should help you in deciding about seeing a chiro:

You may want to sit out gym class for awhile and give your body some time to heal itself.

It might be the epiphyseal plate of one of the long bones or some of the tissue in the knee. Elevation at night may help. Put a pillow under it. Ask your school nurse to take a look.
