What will happen if i lie about my bad knee and it gets hurt in Air Force basic training?Broke my knee cap when i was young and haven't had any problems with it. Scared that they will pull my med record if it gets injured. Will they really throw me in jail and fine me? Is a RE-4 really that bad?

Do not lie about anything. Tell the truth and let the chips fall where they may.

Your best bet is to come clean. If you re-injure the knee and it is found that you lied, you can get a fraudulent enlistment discharge which would be an re-4. It means that you cannot reenlist. Most civilian employers do not have an idea to the codes, however, if you applied for a government job they might look a little further into the codes.

tell them about it you can't put other lives at risk because you might break down under stress , they may even have a fix for it that civilian doctors don't even know about

If you broke your knee cap, and then injury your knee, where they take x-rays.
if they see the break ( which shows up clearly, because of the calcium deposits left as the bone healed )
They your looking at receiveing a fradulent enlistment discharge.
Why lie about it ? if it healed, then its not an issue.
I broke both bones in my wrist, the year before I enlisted.

You would be discharged and charged with fraudulent enlistment. Dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and confinement for 2 years.
