I have knee and other joint problems. Are there supplements I can take to improve situation??My knees in particular "crackle" a lot. A lot of noises come from them when I lay on my back and lift my leg upward exercising the knee joint. Are there supplements that actually work to help decrease possible long term problems with my joints?

glucosamine, condroitin, and omega fish oil would help.

I've heard that taking fish oil pills helps a lot with joint pains, but it can give you fish breath, so stock up on the mints!

Glucosamine...over the counter for joint support.

various types of chondroitin (sp?) are on the market. I take one every morning and it takes the snap, crackel and pop out of my ankles, knees, back, shoulders and even my jaw... to some extent.

glucosamine, this is from wikipedia......
Oral glucosamine is commonly used for the treatment of osteoarthritis. Since glucosamine is a precursor for glycosaminoglycans, and glycosaminoglycans are a major component of joint cartilage, supplemental glucosamine may help to rebuild cartilage and treat arthritis.
Generally speaking it is supposed to be good for joints
