Pain in Kneecap and difficulty when trying to stand up?

Pain in Kneecap and difficulty when trying to stand up?I have had some pain in my kneecap for the past few days, Its hard to sit down (lower my self down) and when I try to stand, it is really difficult, (i had to ask people in my family to aid me stand up). when i move from sitting to standing position, my knee caps appear to make sounds. I have no pain in when i am walking.

Has anyone experienced something like this and what can i do?

Get it checked out. The pain killers will ease the pain, but will not help with the problem that is causing the pain
