runners knee physical therapy?i have runners knee and now i have to go to physical therapy. will going to physical therapy help me run faster and withstand more when im done. because i've had it for a couple of years and haven't been able to run my fastest. will it help with that?

Your knee will be stronger and more able to handle the stress on it IF you do the physical therapy correctly (a lot of people skimp). So, yes, ideally you will come back faster than you were (although you may need to retrain the running a bit).

the therapy itself will not make you faster, its function is to rehabilitate you so that you are healthy and no longer injured.......it also will not make it so that you can "withstand" more when you are done.....to withstand more, you need to fix the original problem that caused the injury (i.e. if you had bad shoes, and continue to wear them after you are healed you'll just become injured again.....or if you have biomechanical issues, unless you can correct your form you'll get injured again)
however, since the pain will be gone, in theory, yes you'll be faster than when you run hurt......usually people at 100% are better than themselves at a lesser percentage...
