I suggest a massage, ice it, then heat it, ice it, then heat it.

Just ice it, and bend it every 20 minutes or so.
If it starts to give out on you when you walk, you should go to the doctor.

What you are asking is to push it to heal quickly. Don't push you knee to listen to you, instead listen to you knee.
Healing is gradual process which can take few days to weeks.
RICE is something i recommend fo decrease the pain level and to go back to normal lifestyle.
RICE Stands for Rest, ICE, Compression and Elevation
Rest is required initially depending on how long it takes to recover.
I – Stands for ICE. You can ICE massage directly on where it hurts. Take Styrofoam cup filled with water and Freeze it. Remove the bottom portion of the cup and use it to massage. Don't do this more than 20 minutes at any given time. Do ICE Massage 2 to 3 times a day based on the pain level
Compression: Use Compression bandage to keep the swelling out. You can use this while taking rest. If you don't feel comfortable you don't have to compress it.
Elevation: Leg or your knee has to be kept elevated above your heart while you are lying down. This will bring the swelling down. You can do this for few minutes a day or while taking rest.
You don't have to do all of it, See whichever suits you.
After few days of RICE treatment you can start doing strengthening and stretching exercise gradually to strengthen the muscle and get back to normal lifestyle. Listen to your knee during exercise and don't push is too hard. Pull back the strengthening exercise if you think there is pain and restart when the pain is reduced.
Good luck with your recovery. This is just a suggestion, please consult a good orthopaedic doctor to get advice.
