Do the Cruciate ligaments prevent knee hyper extension?I know the Cruciate ligaments help define the range of motion in the knee, but do they prevent hyperextension at all? Or is that the job of other ligaments?
thanks

The anterior cruciate ligament does. It checks the hyperextension of the knee. It is somewhat lax when the knee is flexed and taut when the knee is extended.
Hope you find this helpful
