Does anyone know about inside knee pain?

Does anyone know about inside knee pain?I'm a long distance runner...training for a marathon. I am having pain on the inside (medial) of my right knee. I mostly feel the pain going up and down stairs, during the first couple miles of my run, on extension of my leg, or kicking at a ball. The joint is stable and there is no swelling. Has been occurring for about two weeks.
I saw a PA and he couldn't find anything wrong...gave me Celebrex and seemed to think it would take care of it....but it hasn't yet (5 days). Any idea?
Sorry not clear enough. They did xrays and they were perfectly normal. The PA was an orthopedist.

Could be a cyst or the start of arthritis. See an ortho guy.

I just got a dog, I'm walking about 2-3 miles a day with it, and I've JUST
developed what you're describing. I think it is either:
TENDONITIS, or BURSITIS...

for me, the pain is in the soft tissue around the inside of the knee, so I'm thinking the tendonitis more likely...good luck
