How to alleviate my knee pain?


How to alleviate my knee pain?15/F I play tennis and it causes knee pain. What can I take to strengthen my knee joint so it won't hurt as much? Or what can I take to alleviate the pain? Thanks!

wear a knee brace...it shoudl help a lot...or some sort of knee sleeve.
also ice it every night and massage it. don't keep your knees bent for a long time while sitting on the couch or sleeping...it cramps it up.

I would suggest a visit to an Orthopedic Surgeon or Sport Medicine MD as they can either fit you with a brace that you can wear to take the pressure off and reduce the knee pain or they can send you for Physical Therapy (PT) to teach you different exercises and ways to prevent stress and injury to your knee(s).

I use these pain patches. They are cold and smell like noxema but work well. I have a severe knee injury and don't like to take pills.

1. glucosamine chondroitin to strengthen joints
2. tylenol or ibuprofen for pain
3. leg exercises to strengthen muscles around knees so that your knees have more support and less stress and, therefore, less risk of injury and pain
