I have a below the knee amputation and have been denied SSI . I have a prosthesis and I'm unable to walk?without pain and discomfort much less go back to work. Why do they approve mood disorders for disability and not missing limbs. Has this country gone nuts.

That's pretty crazy. While I have no idea why they'd deny you in your condition, I've seen with family members and stuff that typically you can get it the 2nd time you apply.

this question makes me feel sad for people like you who have to go through this. i suggest getting a lawer or something and applying for ssi again. i sincerely hope you get it

To get SSI you usually have to appeal it. It is just how it works. They do it, so that you give up if you don't need it.
