Shooting pain inside knee during exercises?Right at the beginning of my workout I do body weight squats. In the middle of squatting I got a sharp pain from the inside part of my knee. What could cause this and how do I prevent this??
I also run 6 times a week on a treadmill am I putting too much stress on my knees?

You may be. Depending on how you got up to running six days a week and weight lifting could change things. If you get into it to suddenly you can easily get shin splits. I know it's in the shin but that can feel like it's in the knees sometime. if it's not that you might have tendinitis. I've had it before and it's very crippling. I had to go to 8 weeks of physical therapy. Try taking a break for a bit, but if the pain persists, you should see a doctor.

i experienced the exact same thing as you just a few months ago. i went to a surgeon and he put me through tests, ie an MRI (that took 3 months to get an appointment) i got the results back and i was diagnosed with "Patello-femoral pain syndrome.

that is where the inside of you knee and thigh muscles are not strong enough. i had to go to physiotherapy for 4-5 months 2 times a week and the pain gradually disappeared.

i was also given an exercise to do: lay on the ground with you legs out straight infront of you
put your foot so your tips of your toes are facing to ceiling then lift you one leg 10-15 times every morning and every night until it starts to strengthen your thighs.

  i hope this helps
