Knee Disorders: Will cartilage damage in my knee stop me from horse riding?

Will cartilage damage in my knee stop me from horse riding?I've been experiencing incomfort in my knee for a few years now but, only recently decided to get it checked out. The doctor suggested it was almost certainly cartilage damage which was strange for someone of my age (16). He asked if they were a specific incident that injured my knee- I'd fell down the stairs about a year ago but the knee pain existed long before that.
Anyway, I digress, will I be suggested to stop horse riding?

Get a brace a therupedic shoe and it shouldn't bother you.

maybe.......because when you ride a horse you get knee jerks.

It depends how serious the damage is and obviously you will see a specialist and have X-rays etc.
Ask someone who KNOWS!
good luck

Maybe, however if you really like horse riding you should try to figure out if you can get a brace or therapy or maybe have surgery done to repair the damaged cartilage.
