Torn knee ligament (MCL, ACL, PCL)?

Torn knee ligament (MCL, ACL, PCL)?Hi,

First off I'd like to start off by saying I know the correct answer to these questions will always be to "go to a doctor" but I much appreciate no answers like those for this question. I'm looking to see if anyone has ever experienced something similar.

I accelerated while I was playing football the other day and I put pressure on my knee in a straightfoward motion (no twisting or turning). My lef was pretty much straight (not bent) when I accelerated foward to try and cut and the pain was pretty instant but not intense.

I was able to still walk on it right away but there was is a pain when I walk up and down stairs (however, walking is completely normal and no pain is felt). I'm thinking this could maybe be a torn acl, mcl or pcl but it wasn't painful at all. The pain was worse the day after but on the second day it has subsided and on the third day (today) it has subsided more. Is it possible I strained one of my knee ligaments? If so, what's the timetable to heal?

I believe I hyperextended my knee and if that's the case, at least in the sports world, it takes anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to feel normal. OR...is this a torn ligament?

I recently got my knee blasted in a soccer game. I have it braced up and can barely put pressure on it at all. It is very swollen and feels pretty weak and unstable. Even with all of this, the doctor says that nothing may be torn. I am due for an MRI in a couple days, which is the only thing that can tell for sure really.

I would say that you probably did not tear anything. It sounds like you just tweaked something or mildly stretched your ACL or another ligament in there. If I were you, I would just take it easy for a couple weeks and see how it feels. If it does not get better then you are probably due for an MRI. Lets put it this way, I'd rather be you than me right now. Sounds like you are fine from everything I've been told from the doctors and researched.
