What Kinds of Pain Meds Are Injected?I am seeing a pain management doc for my occasional knee pain and he is suggesting injection therapy along with vicodin pain pills that i take "if needed".
Pehaps I could ask him this, but I don't see him until next week and I want to know now what kinds of injection pain meds will he use? Is it the liquid form of vicodin or valium or percocet???
Oh ok, but I remember an old guy saying that he was going to get a shot done and he always feels "drugged" and "out of it." Plus the docs office strongly suggest having someone drive me home. The old guy said that he also get sick, which is common for someone whose not used to an opiate.

When they give injections they can use medicines like Lidocaine, and Marcaine (anesthetic type medicines), as well as steroid medications like prednisone or cortisone.
