What should I do about my knee tendinitis since my "patella tendon strap" isn't helping the pain?I love to run and play basketball, but the pain is impeding my jumping ability! :(
What should I do or try?

Stop playing basketball, I'm sure walking is more important than sports. Maybe you have different thoughts but I enjoy the ability to walk.

Maybe take a break, let it heal for a while.

Assuming all that's wrong is tendinitis, rest, ice, and NSAIDs (like Ibuprofen or Aleve) are probably your best bets. Tendinitis is a repetitive stress injury - the more you push it and try to play through the pain the worse it's going to get. Straps and braces can't replace actual rest and healing for very long.
If resting and icing it for a week or two doesn't make the pain go away, you'll probably want to go see an orthopedic doctor and see if there's something else more serious causing the pain in the knee.
