Can you have runners knee without being athletic?I have the symptoms of runners knee, and my doctor told me that that is probably what my knee problem is. But I am not athletic at all, besides for biking a couple blocks to school and back and P.E. I also have a hiking trip coming up. What exercises would help me prepare for that?

Yes you can. It's a tightened up tendon causing your pains and they need to be freed up by one trained in the tendons. They are more difficult to do than the muscles.
