I have osgood schlatter disease, what do i do with this bump under my knee?I've had osgood schlatter diease since i was 11. when i was young i was very active so i am informed on how i got the disease/condition. But i am 18 now and i have this bump below my knee cap which i believe is tibial tuberosity. the bump is not normal like my other leg which did not have osgood schlatter. But with this leg i dont have any more pains or any problems such as with walking or running. but if i were to put all my weight or pressure down onto this leg i would feel a small sharp pain below the bump coming from my shin bone or so (ex: pushing off to make a quick short dash). Also this leg feels weaker than the other one and it gets quite annoying to have this bump in the way when i kneel down on my knees to do some sort of activity such as paintballing. So the question is, what can i do to get rid of this bump without maybe going through surgery.

I don't know but my boyfriend has it. I think a doctor told him that he might out grow it.

Slow the motion
Avoid excessive sports activity or exercise that might aggravate the disease
Get extra antioxidants
Take 400 IU a day of vitamin E and 150 mcg a day of selenium to help the healing
Chill the pain
Apply ice regularly to the painful area to reduce inflammation
Hope this helps.......It couldn't hurt. If it gets worse PLEASE see your doctor again!

OH !!! That has a name ??????
I have worn a brace for many many many many years due to damage caused by barrel racing horses.
I did not know it had a name.
I just wear the knee brace - sometimes I add veterinarian strength absorbine or flex all.
Just thought I had to live with it.
