What are the tendons that hold your knee?

What are the tendons that hold your knee?I dislocated my knee and my therapist said that I tore the tendon that keeps my kneecap from going to the outside and that is why my knee cap moves so much laterally. What is the name of the tendon? On the inside of knee and holds the kneecap. Thanks! It's not the patellar tendon.
