Insurance wants to settle, MRI showed torn knee ligaments?I was rear ended and the car left so it was a hit and run. My insurance wants to settle I"ve been going to the chiropractor since Feb. only need 8 more sessions and im done. The car damage was $ 2000. The MRI showed I have torn knee ligaments. I've never been in this situation so I'm not sure whats a good settlement amount. Thanks in advance for the help

I don't know what you can 'get out of them' if that is your motive. However, I think fair would be the cost of the car repair, plus complete medical treatment costs, and then calculate any lost wages, and value of your time for what you have had to spend for treatment -- you can quantify it based on your relative 'pain and suffering'.
If there is any damage done to your body that will have permanent repercussions you can settle for a much higher amount.. ie: Chronic pain is hard to quantify with a monetary value.. but we do it anyway. It largely depends on the long term damage for how 'high' you go with the settlement. But you absolutely want all costs and wages lost + time covered. The undefinable 'pain and suffering' is what you will need to figure out here.
Some people would put hundreds of thousands of dollars on a few weeks of pain.. I think that is ridiculous -- however for more chronic problem not so much.
I'm sure others will weigh in here with experience.
