Knee swelling?I sprained my knee two weeks ago. It was a twisting motion while walking and it gave way.(an uneven floor). I could still walk home, but it swelled up the next day. I could put my weight on it and walk around but I stayed of my legs for a week, used RICE and dosed myself with ibuprofen. Two weeks later my knee feels quite normal, strengthened and there is no feeling of "giving way" as there initially was. There is also no pain and no limp. However it still feels heavy, warm to the touch and I cant bend it completely while standing up, neither can i walk on it for too long without it feeling a bit heavy. All these symptoms have improved since I first sprained it. There is also a bit of swelling. My doctor said it was somewhat of a mild grade 2 sprain, not to exert myself and come back in 4-6 weeks. Is this normal in the recovery process? Also, does Asprin suffise as a substitute for ibuprofen? Thanks for your time..

no asperin is a painkiller...keep using ibuprophen...it it an anti imflamatory...that helped with the swelling in your knee...and it goes away for the most part and the final heading bits take the longest...but if u want it done right...it's normal...and def. be gentle with it let it finish healing all the way before you abuse it aome more...

yes it is the process. I hurt my knee too and it twisted but outside on dirt. It swelled up and stayed that way for a few days and went away. But I still couldn't bend it all the way. Now its better but has its days where it hurts. When i walk it feels stiff(heavy) .

I would get a second opinion, heat and swelling for that sort of time is not a good sign.
