Which kind of exercise bike is good for someone with knee issues?I'd like to have a bike to help me burn calories and perhaps strengthen my legs and knees.
I'm trying to decide between the standard upright, a recumbent or the new fusion type (it has a seat like a recumbent but you sit up higher.
Also, is magnetic resistance the best option?
Thanks for any advice you may have to offer.

I have bone-on-bone. I have always found the recumbent no different on the knee, by rather on the back. I choose a standard bike for both riding and in the gym. If you 'spin' with moderate pressure, the only time you will feel the pain is when you either stand, go up a hill, or raise the pedal pressure to high.

If you have knee issues, keep the tension low. Don't mash the pedals hard. Increase your workout intensity by spinning faster, not by spinning harder. For those without knee issues, doing this will prevent them for occurring.
