Bone spurs will not definitely not get any better but they can either get worse or stay the same. Bone spurs are not osteoarthritis per se, but when two bones grind together because of arthritic degeneration, bone spurs often develop. There is nothing you can do to relieve the pain of bone spurs except stopping the activities that cause the pain, and taking Alleve or Ibuprofen along with acetaminophen. In the long run, its usually best to have bone spurs removed surgically with arthroscopy.
