How can I convert an Xray picture in VEPRO of my knee on a CD to an image I can view?

How can I convert an Xray picture in VEPRO of my knee on a CD to an image I can view?I recently had 3 X ray images taken of my knee, and I bought a CD with the images on it. The program they're saved in appears to be medical software called Vepro. Photoshop can't open it, nor can Windows Internet Explorer. Is there some way I can convert them to viewable files without the medical software?

An X-Ray is a lot like a negative. You'd need a large negative scanner to do that. But you can also just place the X-Ray on a light box and take picture of it with a digital camera. The X-Ray image needs to be back-lit in order to be seen or photographed.

Why not call the provider and ask?

The files are probably in the DICOM format. Google "free DICOM viewer" and look for something there. Make sure not to get caught in a scam and download spyware. DICOM files probably have the image encoded in a JPEG format but it's tucked up in with patient records data as well in the DICOM format.
