What are and how many different causes can there be for knee pain, stiffness and clicking?...?

What are and how many different causes can there be for knee pain, stiffness and clicking?...?Around 15 years ago a sustained some damage to my knee, that caused me pain(a feeling like I twisted it...if that makes sense). It was swollen and caused pain for a few weeks, but then subsided.

For the last 15 years it has only caused me pain when very bad weather is impending, until recently.

After lifting and carrying many heavy objects within the last month, all of a sudden, my knee gets stiff if i'm immobile causing pain and clicks when I straighten out my leg to ease the stiffness.

There is no obvious swelling although there may be a bit.

I know I need to see a dr., but was wondering if it could be something that is easily and cheaply treated?

Have no health insurance and not eligible for medicaid or any other reduced medical care.

Just wondering what I'm in for and want to know the optimistic, best case scenario.

Any insight? Professionals welcome! lol

Thanks

One of the common pains with knees is the tendon for the muscle to the kneecap tightening up pulling the kneecap up on and into the knee to make it hard and painful to bend and/or straighten your knee. That tendon can be freed up to get rid of the pain but is difficult to do and should be done by one trained to do so.

one or more of the the following three, neurogenically weak quads, adductors, and hamstrings are the most common cause of knee problems. see an hio method chiropractor.
