What's the best treatment for a mild knee sprain and slight inflammation on the inner side? There was a recurring stabbing pain (like I've never felt before) when I tried to walk last night as I rotated the right knee normally. I'm several strides into my 40's and need to walk a LOT for my occupation. I took some ibuprophen before bed last nite, and another dose first thing this morning and didn't have any pain all day.

If it's a strain massage and cold pack it. If it's a sprain, with fluid in it, rest it.
The ibuprophen works so you need look no further for relief from the inflamation pain. If you do not rest a sprain it gets worse. If you must walk then lightly bandage it with a crepe bandage or wear a good fitting knee support.
Re the stabbing pain, you may have inflamation of the cartilage so take care of this knee.

A cold gel pack on the injury plus taking Aleve or ibuprophen for inflamation.
Gel packs can be gotten at any pharmacy. You freeze the gel pack in the freezer and place it in the neoprene wrap and place it on the injury.
