knee pain diagnosis needed ASAP!?Okay, bare with me here.
I'm having pain in my LEFT knee. I have never directly injured this knee outside of slight twists. (nothing in the past 5 years). I have had this leg reconstructed.
The pain I am having is directly in the middle of the knee. I can touch the outside of the cap without pain, but if I touch the cap, the pain is excruciating. I also have trouble bending my knee up or down. When I rest, it's okay. When it's set, it's fine> it's the physical motion of bending that causes pain.
Any ideas?

Maybe you tore a ligament? Please go to a physiotherapist ASAP

since u've already had reconstruction on the knee it is possible that u could have broken up some scar tissue and possibly re loosened the ligaments. I would go to ur Doc and have them take a look

I just had knee surgery in May. I had the same problem that you had. I had torn tissue between the bones in my knee. That can be caused by literaly anything. The only way the doctor found the problem (after 2 years) was by sending me to have an MRI. The results were clear. Best of luck

Could be Patellofemoral syndrome, it's the term used to describe pain on and around the patella or kneecap. A common cause is damage to the surface underneath the kneecap. It can be started by an impact or it gradually comes on from rubbing on the bone underneath. The injury is often referred to as chondramalacia patellae, patella pain syndrome or runner's knee.
