Knee-Length Dresses are still in High Style

Article by Fei

Knee-length dresses originated as the reluctant societal compromise between the typically overbearing and impractical floor-length dress of the 18th Century, and the mini-skirt of the 70s, that continues to pleasurably scandalize various societies internationally. While the knee-length skirt has always been embraced by the fashion industry as a practical and especially feminine attire, there have been many modern variants of knee-length dresses, the most popular of which are set out below.

The Shirt Dress originated in the 70s, and remains a popular choice in knee-length dresses for working women and students in particular. The typical shirt dress is designed like a traditional man's shirt, only longer, and carefully suited to a woman's shape. They are easy to slip into and button all the way down the front, for easy access, in case the wearer needs to effect a quick change, or even breast feed.

With their cute just-off the shoulder, three-quarter or full-length sleeves, these are the ideal attire for a woman who expects to remain presentable at work and at an outing, as well as at home. All she needs are accessories! Paired with tennis shoes, the student is ready to zap around town on any amount of errands. With a short jacket and pair of high heels, they will be presentable enough to be treated to a meal, at a fancy restaurant.

The classic Wrap-Dress' asset is that it distinctly flatters almost any woman's figure. These accentuate the figure, because they are literally wrapped around the waist to fit the wearer, the waist being the woman's narrowest portion of her mid-section. Wrap knee-length dresses also typically have an asymmetrical hemline beneath the bust to allow the dress to fit the wearer perfectly. Like the shirt-dress, the wrap-dress may be married to a small range of accessories in order to achieve professional as well as casual effects. Because they are extremely smart in appearance, these are particular favourites for working women in high profile jobs.

Sheath dresses are typically tighter, sleeveless knee-length dresses, popular for their ability to offer a slimming appearance. The 'princess' panels on the sides of the dress make the wearer look trimmer. These are perfect for the summer, or on holiday, when activities abound.

The fashion cognoscenti predict that knee-length dresses will be a popular fixture next year, with the stars as well as with the public. Their adaptability and the range of beautiful models and materials of that are available on the market make them an irresistible choice for the wise shopper.

Can anybody tell me what's the solution on how to remove bruises?

Well this site says that you can:
- Put an ice pack on (for 30 minutes and then for regular intervals in the first 24 hrs)
-Put aloe vera on the bruise
- Rub the bruised area in a circular manner with an old toothbrush. Although this method may be painful, it will restore the circulation to the bruise and help diminish its appearance.
(err I don't know if you want to try this....)
- Soak the leaves of a cabbage head in hot water, and apply it to the affected area for at least 15 minutes. Make sure it is not too hot before applying it to your skin.

- Apply Amica gel to a bruise with a cotton ball.

-Pour apple cider vinegar on a washcloth, and keep the compress tight against the bruised area for at least 10 minutes at a time.
or just use concealor!Ice helps right after you bump your legs, and Arnica cream applied asap at regular intervals throughout the day will help them not be so ugly.

Also, if you bruise easily you may want to take some Vitamin C supplements with bioflavinoids because this well help you be more resistant to bruising. Above all, because you know you bruise easily try and be careful! I bruise very easily so I notice that I have to be less in a hurry and move about my day carefully to keep from running into tables and such.

Finally, if they really take forever to go away you could have a vein problem that will need to be checked by a specialist, someone who deals with leg veins or spider veins to see why you bruise so much.Using ice might help the pain (if there is pain with your brusie), but may make the bruise worse.

Unfortunately bruises are more noticeable on some people. If you are concerned about the way they look, there are cosmetics.

Bruises generally take weeks to get better.ice pack right away
