Knee Disorders: Constant knee pain seems lateral collateral ligament is tight & painful causing the joint to grind?

Constant knee pain seems lateral collateral ligament is tight & painful causing the joint to grind?I have had knee problems since I was about 14 (26 now). It used to pop out of the socket easily, just when sitting down, etc. It's sore all the time, and seems to be worse in damp weather. Looking at the knee anatomy it feels like the LCL is where most of the pain comes from. Is it possible I tore it when I was younger & it never healed right & thats what causes my pain today?

Sure, it is possible that you tore it when you were younger and it never healed right, but I feel like it should have healed within a 12 year time period.

First, I would suggest you see your physician. They can diagnosis you correctly. No offense, but self diagnosis is not recommended.

Secondly, you may want to look into getting an affordable, light weight knee brace to help support your knee. These braces can help promote healing, and can also help reduce your knee pain. They will not cure you but the extra support can go a long way.

I hope this helps.
