How to get rid of knee fluid. Could I have a tear because of the fluid also?O.k. I have asked a lot of questions and went to the doctor today and he said I had fluid in my knee. Could I have a tear also? It really hurts and the injury thing (playing tennis) happened on Monday! It seems to not be getting better. I also was told to wear a knee brace. I can barely put any weight on it. It seems to be getting worse but i am no doctor. PLEASE RESPOND I REALLY KNEE HELP!

Yes, you could have a tear in your knee. These tears are very painful. I advise resting your knee, taking 400 mg ibuprofen every 4-6 hours for at least three days (but no more than seven), and putting ice on the knee.
Fluid is taken care of by draining it out of the knee.
