Knee stiffness/pain when I wake up?

Knee stiffness/pain when I wake up?I'm 24 years old, haven't injured myself in any way, don't do sports. I've recently been waking up some mornings with stiffness and pain in the front and sides of my knee,,, It's so bad I can hardly walk, and have to massage and bend my knee until it goes away. It's usually a knee that I had bent in my sleep, however it's normal to bend your knees when you're sleeping, so I don't know if it's just this alone causing it. Thoughts??

Sometimes I wake up with the same symptoms because I slept hard and kept my knees in the same position for too long. Try placing a pillow under your knees when you sleep. This may help. If you don't see improvement or if it worsens, see the doctor.
