What could the sharp achy knee pain be?

What could the sharp achy knee pain be?I was sitting at my cousin's voleyball game last night and I got a sharp pain in my knee. It hurt all night, I have not had this happen before. What could it be?? And what could I do?? I should I exercise or lay off of it??

If it hurts when you move your knee then it is because of the tendon. for some reason they like to shorten at different times and then become a problem until you release them. Do this to release it:
While sitting start with your leg out in front of you extended out to a comfortable length. Wrap your hands around it so you have a good two inches working area. Place your thumbs about two inches behind your knee and press into the top middle of your leg hard and hold. Relax. After 30 seconds, slowly slide that leg back until it is pulled up under the chair as far as you can make it go. Then release the pressure but hold your leg there for one minute longer.
