For one, you might want to improve your running form. Be good to your knees, or by the time you're 30 they're going to be screwed. Make sure that when you run, you aren't bouncing up and down too much and that you are running heel to toe with your knees slightly bent.

Then, to keep your knees feeling good or to help them out, get something to rub into your knees with menthol as an active ingredient. Vick's vapor rub would work, but there are other things as well, including some products that are actually made for horse muscles that you could easily use yourself if you want to totally go overkill.

well its not really a quick fix that you can use any old over the counter medicine for. Ive had really bad knee pain before and I used to be a total avaid runner. I would run everywhere, but then i started to have some serious pain in my legs, i tried advil and that only masked the pain for a little while. I went to the doctors because it just got really bad.
he explained that because i was only maskin the pain it got alot worse than what it should have because i only masked it. it turned out i had patellar femeral pain syndrom, shortened muscles and tendons, and cronic pain syndrom. so i had to go get IMS which is intramuscular stimulation... believe me that is not something you want to get. they stick needles into your legs and it cramps up the muscles to help them relax.
go see your doctor right away
