Will a stationary bike and walking for exercise be good on my knee if I have tendinitis?

Will a stationary bike and walking for exercise be good on my knee if I have tendinitis?I'm trying to heal my right knee from patella tendinitis and I wanna exercise and do some cardio to stay in shape. If I use a stationary bike and do walking, will my knee still be alright? I ice my knee twice a day. If I should be doing something else please tell me. I've already been to a doctor. Thanks!

Try swimming.

I had a lot of problems with my knee also, but am now using stationary bike and walking too. I use a small brace directly beneath my knee and that helps a lot. You might want to ask your doctor if this would be ok for you too.

Mine is by ACE and has a little adjustable tab in front for adding pressure to the tendon without being constricting on the back of the knee. I don't recommend the brace that goes above and below the knee when riding the bike - it puts some weird pressure where you don't want it above the knee.

Hope this helps :)

Any condition that ends in -itis is an inflammed condition. This requires rest and ice. Ultrasound treatments will bring blood to the area and help heal it. Repetitive exercise is the absolute opposite of what you should do. A little walking should be OK.
