Knee pain, inside of knee cap, from biking?I cycle 3 - 4 times per week and this week I was in a 129 mile ride. Half way through the ride my right knee starting really hurting, every downward push through the pedal hurt.
The pain, 2 - days later, is still slightly sensitive to touch. Looking down at my right knee the pain is coming from just left of the top corner my knee cap (hope that makes sense).
Is this a stress realted injury, is there anything I can do to prevent this, could my seat or pedals be positions wrong, could my seat possibly be positioned too far forward (my seat is pushed forward quite a bit because I frequently compete in triathlons) any ideas on what should I do?
Thanks!

You may have torn your lateral meniscus in your knee. It's one of the most common sports injuries. I've had 5 knee surgeries to repair and partially remove my medial meniscus. I wasn't a triatholon participant but a kyo bum nim in tae kwon do. Before my surgeries, my knee would buckle (give way) at random times, hurt when anyone tried to touch it or when i moved, and just didn't feel "right". I went to a sports injury doctor and he ordered an mri to check my knees - so you may want to make an apointment.
If it turns out you have a meniscus tear the procedure's real easy - i was up walking around right after the arthoscopic surgery and after 2 weeks you can go back to excercising to build back your strength.

Put some ice....try to move your sit higher in order not to bend your knee a lot while you pedal
