treatment for chronic knee pain?chronic knee pain for almost a year. X Ray was taken, MRI was done and then was sent to a rhumatologist due to the MRI showing it was rheumatoidoid arthritis. Rheumatologist says its not and drew fluid off the knee to be analyzed. I was on steroid treatment for 6 weeks and it did a wonderful job but after the treatment was stopped the swelling and pain returned within 1 week. I don't go back to the doctor for 6 weeks to find out the results from fluid that was drawn. My knee swells right above the top of the knee in the front. Any suggestions would be helpful.

There cannot be a course of treatment until you find the cause. Go back to your doctor.
