Will Icy Hot lower knee pain even if there's torn cartilage in it? Why?

Will Icy Hot lower knee pain even if there's torn cartilage in it? Why?I have knee pain and don't want surgery since I'll be on crutches for 6 weeks like Barry Bonds.

If you have torn cartilage, it needs to be repaired. They do arthroscopic surgery now and you are not on crutches for six weeks.

i dont think so. IH patch relieves muscle pain. A cartilidge tear is much more serious then that. If it is servere, i would consider taking Physical Therapy. Icing it in general though will help numb it and keep down painfull inflamation.

My husband had surgery for the torn cartilage in his knee. It helped along with physical therapy. You are not going to get any better without surgery --you will be better off to go ahead and get it over with.

Only if the smell of Icy Hot convinces your brain that it does.
The mind can be a wonderful thing in some cases but it can also be your worst enemy.
It can make you believe most anything you want to believe but it is only fooling you.
As the others advise, if something is broke it's broke and there is no other solution than the one you are faced with that you are obviously trying to find a quick, cheap way out of.

P.S. How does a lotion/creme or jel get down into your knee to work on a torn cartliage? NOT!
You don't have to have it fixed, you can leave it alone and hobble around with a splint over your knee indefinately and go about making a fashion statement.
Get real,6 weeks when it's over really isn't that long a time.

its menthal it only gives you the illusion that the pain is gone
