Proper Footwear for the Sport of Lacrosse

Lacrosse is a team sport with Native American origins and is largely played in America, Australia, England, and Canada. Both men's and women's lacrosse are physically demanding and require keen hand-eye coordination as well as superb agility and swift footwork. Therefore, the type of footwear worn by both men and women is a tremendously crucial component to not only lacrosse as a sport, but also the individual player's repertoire of equipment necessary to excel at lacrosse.

Lacrosse cleats are an important part of footwear as they allow the user to utilize large levels of traction by digging into the grass or artificial turf on which lacrosse is played. This traction then allows the player to move down the field at accelerated rates, a concept evident in the propulsion of soccer players down the soccer field. The cleats also serve to increase stability as lacrosse is a sport which requires a substantial amount of balance when making passes or shooting goals. Additionally, lacrosse is a sport played entirely on your feet. Therefore, cleats which are not only stable, but also comfortable are important because they cater to the great physical demand that the sport places on your feet.

As important as cleats are to lacrosse, they are not the only footwear which can benefit your abilities. Lacrosse socks are an important and integral part of footwear equipment. Cleats alone cannot provide the comfort and stability necessary to play such a demanding sport. Numerous manufacturers create socks for various individuals and their needs. Specifically, Adidas manufactures a sock which has increased padding in the sole and toe of the sock, while Under Armour manufactures a sock which has increased stability along the calf. Finding a sock which provides comfort in the areas covered by a cleat can help alleviate the symptoms of soreness and inflammation which often accompany the physical demand of lacrosse. Alternatively, a sock which offers added calf support can help buttress the knees and alleviate inflammation and soreness in the knee area.

From socks to shoes, working foot apparel is a huge component of lacrosse. Foot apparel may seem strikingly irrelevant compared to pads and sticks, but the proper footwear can ultimately give you great benefits when playing lacrosse. The footwear helps to not only increase your performance, but give you added comfort so you can spend more time practicing and less time with sore feet.

do you think you will get more answers?Hey man wear what works for you. If that worked for you last season keep it. If you had a crappy last season maybe its time for a change. I would however recommend wearing SOMETHING!Why do you ask twice dear ?
Interesting obsession though....sounds like the compression shorts are too much...u should just wear your jockstrap or briefs and your pads under your football pants...otherwise you are going to restrict your movement too much and wont be as effective at your job.Dude that is nasty you are not supposed to wear underwear under "under armour" you getting them all dirty warned out faster and smelly. Under Armour is supposed to replace underwear nothing under it. Just wear long blue shorts or just the black ones....I advice you not to ask this again:it is gonna look like spam
