Do you know of an excellent website for knee anatomy or can you tell me what part of my knee keeps pulling?Ever since I had stress fractures in my tibial plateaus, I've had problems with part of my knee.
If you siit on a chair with your feet flat on the floor and look down at your patella(s) it is easy to find. Touch your patella at 9:00 (on the knee to your RIGHT) and 3:00 (LEFT), then slide your hands straight off your patella, towards each other and toward the inner part of your leg. The NEXT bone you feel is the area I'm having trouble with now for months. Whatever's going on, it's AROUND that bone. The doctor didn't know what it was, and the physical therapist said it was a retinaculum. Could it also be a muscle insetion point? I stepped up a stair with my toe pointed slightly inwards, and I felt this pull and electric shock type feeling. Now it's all swollen and irritated! AGAIN! It is not the MCL, I know that for sure. Thanks for your answers.
The orthopedic doctor doesn't know what it is. I need anatomy of the muscle around that kneecap along with any tendons. Thanks!

Ask your doctor if he has anything against your taking Shark's Cartilage. This is very good for tendons, ligaments and synovial fluid. It contains collagen and can heal problems in certain people, pretty quickly. If your doctor has nothing against it, this might help you. It helped me when I had a serious problem with my shoulder, and my son, when he had knee problems. Nothing else helped my son, except taking Shark's Cartilage along with glucosamine. If SC is going to help, you will usually see improvement within about one week and sometimes you can see small changes, sooner. Regarding the other person saying Shark's Cartilage is a scam - there was some concern for the claims made that it cured cancer, and later, they found it did not do what they thought it would. But, if this person is saying my shoulder did not heal (even though I could barely use my arm, at all before using it), then they simply do not know me and they are just going by articles they have read regarding SC and cancer. I KNOW it worked for me. It may not work for everyone, but it works for some, and if you are one of those people, then you are in a great place!

Try
http://www.innerbody.com/image_musc09/musc20.html
http://www.kneepaininfo.com/kneeanatomy.html
but you are not going to get very far with self-diagnosis. Consult a proper orthopaedic surgeon
Don't go anywhere near shark cartilage. It's a scam, see
