Fluid in my knee? Water on the knee? Water in the knee? What?

Fluid in my knee? Water on the knee? Water in the knee? What?Ok heres my deal. On Jan 21, 2007 I was in a horrible car accident which one of my injuries sustained was blunt force trauma to my knees. In recovery my knees were swollen for about a month, with bruising and pain while walking. Its almost nine months since my accident and ever since my left knee has'nt been the same.
Recently ive started feeling discomfort when i walk, in my left knee, not to mention the swelling never really went all the way down.
What could this be and what should i do???

See an Orthopedic doctor. They specialize in bone and joint problems.

like you said,it could be water on the knee, well, you should look for an orthopaedic doctor and have x-rays taken to see if theres water on your knee,if this is the case, then the doctor will remove the fluid by sucking it out with a syringe. you may have to go back for further treatments.the doctor may want you to use a knee brace to reduce the swelling and protect the knee during everyday use.good luck and i hope youre feeling better soon.

First, have you talked to an orthopedic doctor about the problems with your knees? If not, I recommend going to see one soon.
Now, on to your question. It could be fluid on the knee, which is usually easy to correct, they use a syringe and withdraw the fluid. Usually that takes care of it. It could be something called Avascular Necrosis, which causes swelling and pain in the affected joint. It is diagnosed with xrays. With that, you just have to wait for your body to correct it. Since you had BFT, you could have arthritis in your knees, which would make it painful to walk, and usually with arthritis your joints swell, but its not usually fluid swelling.
Like I said, see an orthopedic doctor and lots of luck to you!
