Knee Disorders: Is moderate Cycling a good exercise for relief of Knee pain?


Is moderate Cycling a good exercise for relief of Knee pain?I have a knee pain I am already 55 years od age ; doctor has prescribed me some excercises Is Cycling a good idea?

Anything steady and repetitive. No climbing.
You may want to try glucosamine, as well.

I've heard it is but I cannot! Maybe it depends on what type of knee problem you have...

Another thing to beware of is walking DOWN hill. It stresses the knee unduly. Be well!

The best exercise would probably some sort of water aerobics in a termperature-maintained pool. You work against the resistance of the water thus strengthing the muscles around the knee while not applying too much stress or weight on it.
