is there a cure for the knee disease "Oshgoods-slaughter"?i guess this disease is extremely common in athletic people and it goes away on its own after a while. but....... it seems that the pain in my knee has increased to where weight distribution must be compensated with my other leg. playing basketball has become more difficult as well. jumping and landing during play will make me almost immobile after. Please help me out!!!

I have several friends that are track athletes with this condition. It will go away eventually, but it just takes time.
If you go to an orthopedist, or perhaps even a general practitioner, he can give you a special brace to wear. My friends tell me it helps a lot. It puts gentle pressure on the lower bone that is sticking out, and helps protect it from being bumped (which I'm told hurts a LOT).
Best of luck,
Matt
